If you like beaches you will be very pleased with Chios. Whether you like long sandy beaches, with or without people, deserted coves, sand, pebbles, whatever, Chios has a beach for you. For those who have been to Greece before and are used to the Cyclades where you have a choice of a half-dozen beaches, Chios will be a feast with dozens and dozens of beaches, each different from the next. You will need a car to get to them all and you will need a month on the island if you want to swim at every one. For those who don't want to drive you can stay in Karfas, Emporio, Komi, Volissos or any of the other beach towns that have hotels. For those who choose to rent a car start anywhere and visit a beach or two a day til its time to go home. These are just a few of the many beaches in Chios. Click on them to see full-size.
