Greek Island Synopsis

Krisopigi, Sifnos, Greece

First of all Synopsis is not the name of a Greek Island. A synopsis is a short description of something, like a movie or a book. In this case it is an island. So my Greek Island Synopsis has a short description of each island and a photo, and links to more detailed information on the island including hotels, travel agents, beaches, restaurants and places of interest. The site is broken up into island groups: Cyclades, Dodecanese, Ionian, Sporades, Saronic, NE Aegean etc. You can click on each island group and go directly to the descriptions. Some people use this page to decide where they want to go and then use my create-an-itinerary page to construct an island-hopping itinerary. It is easy, free and you are under no obligation to purchase. My Greek Island Guide is another page which has a photo of each island and direct links to the island page without the description for those in a hurry or are more inclined to choose an island by looking at a photo rather than reading a short description. So you have a choice on how you want to get information. If you have any questions or can't decide what you want to do you can always contact me and I will usually interrupt whatever I am doing and answer you (unless I am sleeping). I also have a Greece Itinerary Suggestions Page which may help you narrow down what you want to do on your Greek holiday. If you like these pages please share it with your friends on Facebook by using the buttons on this and other pages. Ferryphobia
This year I got so many e-mails from people nervous about taking a ferry to the islands that I made a page of islands with bridges, islands with very short ferry rides, and places on the mainland that are just like being on the islands. See Greek Islands for Ferry-phobics

Ferryhopper logoUse Ferryhopper to find all direct and indirect ferry routes for the islands of Greece, Spain, Italy & Turkey, compare ferry companies & prices, and book cheap ferry tickets with no hidden fees in one go!

Avoiding Athens: Want to go to the Greek Islands but not Athens? Check out Fantasy Travel's Far From the Maddening Crowd which enables you to stay at the beach of the Apollo Coast just 20 minutes outside of Athens . Or if you want to skip the mainland entirely you can create your own itinerary with this form. I also recommend you look at Fantasy Travel's Greek Island Hopping Programs because you may find something you like at a price you did not think possible.

New Economical Packages: Fantasy Travel has put together a number of packages that offer quality accommodation for economical prices. Most packages that seem too good to be true are actually not as good as they seem, often using hotels that are in areas you really don't want to stay in, to keep the price down. But Fantasy's economy packages feature hotels in and around the Plaka in Athens and are all good quality hotels. You can't beat the price for these hotels and these itineraries. For more visit Fantasy Travel's Special Offers Page

Greece Hotel Search: You can search over 3000 hotels on the Greek Islands by location, price, whether or not it has a swimming pool or is on the beach, and see photos, maps and customer reviews by using Matt's Greece Hotel Search. Excellent prices and many hotels you can book and then cancel with no cancellation fee. For those who want to book without using a travel agency this is the best way to do it and the small commission I make enables me to continue my work. Also see Matt's Best Hotels in Greece for my suggestions for each island, region, village, town and city.
