Many mos. ago when I was checking the web for anything I could find to help with planning a trip to Greece for my family..........I found your site.  Thank goodness.  I then used Dolphin Hellas to help me, and it was invaluable.   We have just returned from our trip, and everything we arranged through Dolphin Hellas was terrific.

I usually make all travel arrangements myself via the internet and was hesitant to use an agent.  But, as suggested by your site,  using the Athens agent proved to be the way to go.  Thank you.  Judy Misbach

For the attention of Aliki

Just a little note now I have returned to England
I would again like to thank you for your assistance in helping me to arrange a
most enjoyable holiday for my wife and I in Athens and Naxos last week. Everything went exactly
to plan (in fact my most anxious moment was in Luton UK finding my airport accommodation !!!!),
and I returned with a feeling of  great achievement at having organised an "independent"
holiday doing the things I wanted at the time I wanted to.

Both the Hotels in Athens and Naxos gave a very acceptable level of
accommodation and the staff were very helpful in giving us advice and assistance
where required. It was a pleasure to meet you personally whilst I was in Athens and I repeat
that I would have absolutely no hesitation in recommending Dolphin Hellas to any of my relatives,
friends, and colleagues if ever they required independent travel in Greece.

Yours most sincerely
Mick Nicholson

Hi Aliki:

Dick and I are now back in North Carolina.  We had a wonderful 3-week holiday
in Greece and love your country.  The accommodations in Mykinos were
wonderful and the rental car arrangements and hotel arrangements in Naplion
were excellent.  Thank you so much for helping us put together a fun and
educationsly trip.  We hated to leave but we were running out of money and
clean clothes!

Hope you can assisst we again sometime in the near future.  We did a great
job for us.  No complaints.

Sincerely,

Janet McLean

Yassous Uli,

Hope I spelled that right. All our arrangements and accomodations in
Greece were wonderful. We loved the islands and the countryside. It was
even more beautiful than we expected. Everyone we met was friendly and
gracious. We felt very welcomed everywhere we went.
...
Again, your country is beautiful. We would love to return sometime.

Hello Uli:

I have returned to the US and my trip was wonderful. Thanks to you
everything went well.

The country of Greece should put English on their road signs and use
more signs to guide the tourists who will be coming to the Olympics and
visiting before 2004. When I got to the airport in Mykonos, there were
no taxicabs and the Hotel could not find a driver. I also had to
purchase a phone card. A phone card is necessary for all tourists. The
Hotels were nice and clean. The Byron was hidden in a back alley and
those stairs are quite a climb. The village of Nauplio is very
picturesque. What is the name of the mountain range that I drove
through?
...

Thank you.

Dear Uli:
You were wonderful!!  Because of you, we had a marvelous, fantastic trip to
Greece!  Everything worked like clockwork and there were no problems.  The
hotels in Naxos, Santorini, and Rhodes were so charming and lovely.  Aliki
(you were gone that day) gave me a travel agent in Chios and I called him and
he got the Diana Hotel for us.  On the way over, we were able to upgrade and
got a cabin and slept.  But on the way back from Chios to Athens, the ferry
was so packed with all the voters that we had to sit.  I met two sets of
cousins on my mother's side and that was so wonderful (and emotional) for me.
Thank you for getting his telephone number in Athens.  I know we'll have
Greek friends  and others who will be traveling to Greece and we'll certainly
recommend you!!  Thanks, again, for everything!!   Please let Kiki (or
whoever your boss is) know how very pleased we were with you and all the
suggestions and travel arrangements you made for us!    Mary and Dan Courtney

Just returned from 3 weeks in Greece. Your advice from your website was RIGHT ON and very helpful. The best advice you gave was to use Dolphin Hellas travel agency. Esther was wonderful and so very helpful. We stayed at Hera Hotel as Attalos was full. Hera was wonderful, but is now being torn down to become a 4 star hotel. Thanks so much for your wonderful sight!

To Kostas:

We got home last night from our trip and I just wanted to say thank you. We
were very impressed with all the arrangements you made so competantly.
Greece is a beautiful country and we found people to be very kind and
friendly. The islands were spectacular and even driving through Athens
wasn't as bad as we had feared! (Although it was a long trip from Corinthos
to Athina on election day)

We will certainly recommend your agency to any of our friends!

Thanks again and hope you enjoyed your elk. Sorry it couldn't be the real
thing.

best wishes,

Dear Aliki,
Want to take the time to wish you a Happy and Holy Easter. It was really good to see you again and you know once I was back home, it only took a few days to wish I was back in Greece. Crete especially with its beauty and tranquillity.  When anyone asks what part of the trip I liked best - Immediately think of the Koutsonari cottage.  Its an automatic response.
Not so much Ieropetra but the cottage itself.  You planned a wonderful itinerary for me. Chania - old town was
an experience and I thoroughly enjoyed the old town and its way of life.  I found it very frustrating trying to get into the old town but once there, I loved it.  I will send you a map from the center of town to the old town when  I have a chance to make it.  Maybe you can keep it with the pictures of Porto Del Colombo when I get them all printed of the 48 rolls of pictures I took
in Crete, I've printed about 25 of them.  They are beautiful and I will pick out some of the better ones to send you.  I'm
so glad you added rethymnon to my schedule. It is very nice there and surrounding area well worth exploring.  The hotel was in a perfect spot, on the water, with great access walking into town, and the surrounding antiquities.  About Iraklion , I will write about it in my next letter.
....
I ordered the book Corelli's Mandolin before I lift for Crete,  It was sold out so I had to order it when I returned home.  So far I've read up to Chapter 2 and have enjoyed it What I need is time.... Time , whats that?
Again Thank you and Happy Easter!!!

Love Tina

Dear Uli:  I just wanted to e-mail you to thank you for your help in
planning and putting together our trip.  I, my wife and my daughter had a
wonderfull trip and time in your country.  All the arrangements you had made
went smoothly and we had no mistakes or problems.  I was especially pleased
with service provided by the car rental company and would reccomend them to
anyone.  All the hotels were fine.  The only complaint we had was that many
of the sites closed early this time of year and you couldn't get into many
of them in the afternoon.  You may want to tell anyone going offseason to go
to the sites early and first thing in the morning.  If you have any
questions about specifics I will be happy to answer them.  Otherwise thank
you again for helping make it a great trip and an experience my daughter
will not forget. Epharisto. Egidijus Marcinkevicius and family.

Wed, 17 May 2000

Kostas,

I wanted to write and thank you for helping us with a wonderful honeymoon.
Jill and I enjoyed Greece very much.  We got to see many contrasting
locations.   Crete was lovely.  It was almost like Venice (without the
canals, of course).  We enjoyed both Hania and Rethymno very much.  I wish
we would have seen Knossos, as I heard it was spectacular.  Also, to our
disappointment, the Samaria Gorge was in fact open.  However, we did not
pack for such a trip and could not go.  Casa Delfino was beautiful and the
ladies there are so friendly.  The Veneto in Rethymno was nice, though the
management seemed pretty disinterested in us.

Santorini was probably the most beautiful place of all.  We chose this as
our time to relax and spent many hours looking out of our balcony.  We did
hike the volcano and rode donkeys, though.  I think the donkey ride was our
favorite.  We really enjoyed the staff at Tzekos Villas.  Kostas the evening
receptionist was really friendly and we spent many evening chatting about
everything.  Efi from Bellonias tours was very friendly as well.

Athens was fabulous.  Seeing the Acropolis was just amazing.  It's almost
surreal.  You see it in textbooks all your life, but nothing compares to
being there.  The Delphi trip was probably our best day of all.  It was a
beautiful drive and an amazing sight.  We loved the Electra Palace.  The
staff is very professional and the views from the roof are great.  Plus the
breakfast is awesome.  I could not get enough of the juice machine.  I'd
never seen anything like that before.

We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.  If we had it to do over again, we would
probably do a couple of things different.  We would probably have cut
Santorini down to 3 days and spent more time in Athens for day trips on the
mainland.  I would have liked to visit Olympus and a couple on our return
flight mentioned some place that Alexander the Great had built.  I forget
the name, but he said it was amazing.  We would have also brought better
shoes for the Samaria Gorge and visited Knossos.

So, the plus side is that this leaves us open for a return trip to visit all
these sights on the mainland.  My wife wants to visit Italy, and I want to
visit Spain, but a return trip to Athens could be in the plans in the next
few years.  I will certainly hang on to your email address until then.

Thanks again,

jpc

Hi Kostas:

As you said, no news is always good news, the only thing we regret about our
visit to your fabulous country is not having time to meet you and thank you in person for a
wonderful vacation. I think the cruise was a wise choice because we wouldn't be able to know so many
places in so little time, or maybe we would, but it was a stress-free way of doing it. Our
favorite arqueological site was Ephesus it is really something else, and meeting the Turks made us
understand the true meaning of "good merchants".
Mykonos and Santorini deserve all the fame indeed and the Corint channel was an
amazing experience.
The food on board was delicious and for not being a luxurious ship, I think it
serves its purpose very well and the crue does a really nice job. It was for all a memorable
experience, thank you once again for making that possible.
On the other hand, we enjoyed it so much that we want my mother,(she stayed home
with the kids) to do it in the future

Thanks again, hope to keep in touch

Hello from Colorado!!  Kostas, I just wanted to write and thank you for all
that you did to help make my stay and Kati's stay in Greece so pleasurable.
The Greek people are still the kindest most gracious people I've met.  Our
stay in Mykonos was beautiful.  The trip to Delphi was wonderful--Kati really
enjoyed seeing the ancient ruins there.  And all along the way throughout our
entire trip we met the most amazing people.

Our trip was truly remarkable and

Esther.  Seeing her sweet face at the airport when we arrived meant so much.
Please tell her hello for us.  I hope one day to see you again.  If you ever

you to stay.  Again, thank you always for your kindness.  Warmest

Dear Kostas:

It was a pleasure meeting you and I just want to say THANK YOU so much for
the fabulous job that you did in coordinating my plans.  This was the first
time that I used the internet to book a trip and I was very impressed with
your expert service that you gave me. All paperwork was in order and
everything worked out fine.  The tours were great.  A job well done.

Also, if you can let Andreas know that the trip to Mykanos was great.  The
hotel San Giorgios was absolutely super and would highly recommend it and
would stay at it again.  Even though we had to either take the local bus or
taxi into town, it was fun and I liked the seclusion of the hotel.
...
Once again, it was great doing
business with both of you and I look forward to working with you again.

Thank you once again for a GREAT JOB done.  Barbara

say it was the very best vacation/trip/adventure we have ever had. And we owe a
lot of the enjoyment to your effort: you have been a true guide to us and all
your work has been highly professional but what was more important so very kind
and warm. THANK YOU!!

Dear Kostas:
It was a pleasure meeting you and I just want to say THANK YOU so much for
the fabulous job that you did in coordinating my plans. Thiswas the first
time that I used the internet to book a trip and I was very impressed with
your expert service that you gave me. All paperwork was in order and
everything worked out fine. The tours were great. A jobwell done.
Also, if you can let Andreas know that the trip to Mykanos was great. The
hotel San Giorgios was absolutely super and would highly recommendit and
would stay at it again. Even though we had to either take thelocal bus or
taxi into town, it was fun and I liked the seclusion of the hotel.
...
Once again, it was great doing business with both of you and I look forward to working with you again.
...
Thank you once again for a GREAT JOB done. Barbara

.  I also dealt with Aliki last year for my trip to Greece.
She arranged everything for us.  Our trip ran like clockwork.  Our hotels,
villas, plane ticket between one of the islands, ferry boat ticket, and she
even had a taxi waiting for us when we initially arrived at the airport.  We
met her the second day in Athens, and not surprisingly, found a very
beautiful woman, who is extremely intelligent, speaks English like she was
born with the language, gracious, and extremely kind.  She is a wonderful young
woman.  I would use Dolphin Hellas again in a heartbeat.  Aliki made my
experience a pleasant one.

Dear Kostas,

Now that I am (unfortunately...) back to Munich, I would like to thank you very
much for the good organization of my stay at the RIVA Hotel in Athens. I was
very pleased to find your letter and some folders (even in German language) about
Athens when I reached the hotel.

Due to bad weather conditions, Lufthansa cancelled my flight to Athens at 11
a.m. on Thursday. I was booked on the Lufthansa flight at 7.30 p.m., which meant that
I missed my first concert at the Megaron!!! I was very sad about that, and it
was dull to spend the whole day at the overcrowded Munich airport. As Lufthansa
could not tell us whether the plane at 7.30 p.m. would be cancelled, too, I asked
Olympic Airways whether I could book a seat on their evening machine. This was
possible. The Lufthansa was delayed and said to depart at midnight. I did not
believe it (and it really was cancelled, too, after all!). So I took Olympics
(which finally departed at 10:30 p.m.). My luggage was left behind in Munich as
Lufthansa did not manage it to deliver it to Olympics. What a chaos! I reached
Athens at 2.30 a.m., 12 hours late and long after the first concert at Megaron.
But I was there! Although there was a taxi strike, I was lucky to be able to
share the only taxi waiting at the airport with two men who wanted go to a hotel
nearby the RIVA. It was 4 a.m. when I got there... But everything was prepared
so well for me. Two hours later, I woke up and phoned the airport in order to claim
for my lost baggage. As I was awake anyway and did not want to loose a minute of
time, I had breakfast and then went for a walk to Plaka and the Acropolis. The
sun was shining, it was warm, Athens looked so charming to me, Plaka and the
ancient monuments were so beautiful, and I knew I did the right thing - just
come to Athens, no matter when my luggage would reach the town (well, it was
delivered to my hotel at 10 p.m. on Friday)... I was on holiday, and everything
was fine. People were friendly (also especially EACH of the receptionists at the
RIVA!!!), the sights were not at all overcrowded - yes, Kostas, I had a great
time. Also yesterday's concert at the Megaron (a performance of "Salome" with
the London Philharmonic Orchestra and A-class singers!) was really, really wonderful
and worth coming to Athens. I am sure I will come back some day and of course
book my trip again with your travel agency. To my Austrian friend Andrea, who
wants to visit Athens in January, I can only report the best things about your
beautiful town.

Thank you again for everything!

Best regards from Munich,
Blanka

Kostas,

I thank you so very much for your expert and quick action in changing our
reservations.

We wish you many blessings for this Christmas and New Year.

Barbara, Lou and Doris

PS:  I'm glad you clarified the difference in names.  Somehow or other Lou and I
thought we were communicating with a very nice woman, but when your colleague
sent us a message that Kostas (HE) was out because of illness that dawn finally came
that we were dealing with a very nice gentleman.
Kostas Kefallonitis we salute you.

Aliki:

As Jan and I were reminiscing about our wonderful trip to Athens, Mykonos
and Santorini, we remembered that, in our hurry to get back into our
routines of everyday life, we never gave you our sincerest thanks for all
the work you did for us. We cannot imagine being able to have such a good
time without all the extra effort you put in for us. We truly did
appreciate it.

Please pass this on to your boss so that she knows also what a great job
you did!

THANK YOU for your help!

Alike and Belen,

I have been meaning to thank you for the  OUTSTANDING trip my husband and I
took in September to Sifnos and Santorini.  The best way to describe our trip
is to say that my husband didn't really want to go and we both had tears in
our eyes as we were leaving to return home.  We're already talking about
returning to Greece next year.

Thanks again!

Wed, 03 Mar 1999

Dear Kiki,

Even though it's been four months since we had the trip of a lifetime, I
wanted to (belatedly) thank you for all you and your staff did to make it so
wonderful for me, Janet, her parents and her 5 other sibblings and their
spouses.  Whether it was the repeated contacts with Royal Olympic, arranging
hotels and transportation before and after the cruise or just your (and
Aliki's) pleasant conversations on the bus, it all combined to make our trip
in Greece one we'll never forget.  In particular, Janet's mother couldn't
have been happier since for her, it was a dream come true to celebrate her
50th anniversary in Europe with the rest of her family.

Before I forget, I want to particularly thank Aliki for her help in
straightening out what could have been a major disaster when we arrived in
Piraeus and prepared to board the World Renaissance.  We discovered that we
had accidentally left a suitcase at the Philippos Hotel.  Fortunately, Aliki
used her mobile to contact the hotel and arrange for a taxi to deliver the
suitcase to the dock in time to get it loaded on board.  Instead of a major
mess, we had nothing more than a minor disruption that became a happy
memory.

I had wanted to contact you much sooner but had 2 hard disk crashes on my
computer.  Despite having backed up everything, somehow, it didn't include
all my email for the last 9 months of 1998, which meant that I had lost all
of your correspondence and internet address.  Fortunately, I found a copy of
it and hope that this reaches you.

By the way, our daughter, Kimberly, is continuing to grow and smile at
everyone, much as she did during the cruise.  It seems hard to believe that
she's 5 months old and has seen so much of the world already!

Once again, I can't thank you and your staff enough for all you did.  Rest
assured that whenever I hear of a friend of neighbor who's going to Greece,
I will give them your name and internet id -- plus my wholehearted
endorsement.

Kindest Regards,
Bob McKeen

Dear Uli;

We have been thinking about you and your wonderful assistance this past
summer. We were quite concerned for you during the earthquake in your region
and said a little prayer.  We hope that this finds you and Kiki both healty
and unaffected by the tremor.

Everywhere we went this summer, we told everyone how pleased we were with
you! Amazing how many people we met also felt highly of your travel agency
and your helpfulness! You really get around!

Stay well and we hope to return in the future.

Lanny & Priscilla Marvin

When we first contacted you about 18 months ago we asked if you thought it would be possible for us to see Greece while using a wheelchair as a means of transportation.  Your answer was that you thought it would be difficult but mostly possible.  We have just returned from 2 weeks in Greece and it was wonderful.
Things worked out perfectly but only because of the hard work of Aliki.  Even though I am a travel agent here in Baltimore we decided to have her do all the arrangements.  After all, she speaks the language!    We visited Rhodes, Santorini, a car and driver outside of Athens for 5 days (Delphi, Olympia, Nauplion) and then Athens for 3 nights.  Our driver was outstanding (great English and a non-smoker) and in addition to educating us about his country he also imparted his love of his country to us.  We now have a new friend in Greece -- George.  When we got to Athens we met Aliki and even took a picture of me with her.  She is truly a special person.  While we were in the Plaka we bought gold jewelry from the shop you recommended.  (And told them why we were there!)   The trip was a very special one for us and we appreciate your Greece Newsletter's contributions to it.
Thank You!
Howard and Pat Butz

Dear Kostas,
We really had the most wonderful time in Greece, it is one of the most beautiful
places I have ever seen. It was a little expensive compared to our money (the Rand) which
is not doing very well against the $, but that did not take anything away from the
wonderful time we spend there.
.
For your arrangements, all I can say is that it was absolutely fantastic, the
place in Paros was very beautiful and in Santorini, the hotel was so close to everything
and the owners were very friendly. It was just in Athens when we arrived, the arranged
taxi-driver took us to the wrong port, and we had quite a struggle to get to the
right one. But we survived it!!!!

Thank you again for al the arrangement, it was done brilliantly and I will
definitely refer
people to you.

Kind regards
Veldie

Dear Aliki,

Thank you again for all your help in making arrangements for my trip.  They
turned out quite well.  Athens was fun.  A bit noisy, but quite lively and interesting.
Crete was a nice change of pace from the city experience.  The cruise turned out
quite well and the hotels were as expected.  I will be sure to recommend you to
anyone I might know who will be traveling out your way.

DEAR KOSTAS

I JUST WANT TO THANK YOU ONCE AGAIN FOR THE
ACCOMMODATION, PLANNING AND ORGANISATION OF OUR HOLIDAY.  I SURELY WILL
REMEMBER THIS HOLIDAY FOR THE REST OF MY LIFE.
UNFORTUNATELY THE TAXI-DRIVER THAT PICKED US UP AT THE
AIRPORT DROPPED US AT THE WRONG SIDE OF THE HARBOUR, BUT WE
MANAGED AND EVENTUALLY GOT TO THE CORRECT SPOT.
THE ACCOMMODATION ON PAROS WAS GREAT AND IT IS
REALLY BEAUTIFUL THERE. THE MANAGER AND HIS WIFE OF THE
HOTEL ON SANTORINI ARE VERY FRIENDLY AND WE ENJOYED
OUR STAY OVERTHERE VERY MUCH. I CERTAINLY RECOMMEND BOTH HOTEL FOR ANY OF
YOURCUSTOMERS IN FUTURE.
THANK YOU FOR THE ENVELOPE - WE ENJOYED YOUR 'WALK
THROUGH ATHENS'VERY MUCH (ALTHOUGH OU LEGS WEREN'T AS HAPPY ALL THE TIME)
LIKE ALL GOOD THINGS OUR HOLIDAY CAME TO AN END AND WE
START WORKING AGAIN.

THANK YOU AGAIN FOR EVERYTHING

This is just little note to thank you for all your assistance in booking our

beautiful as all the pictures.

Thanks again!

Dear Aliki,

I am sorry not to have gotten to your office while I was in Athens, but
after going to see certain well-known sights and touring the Plaka area,
frankly, I was exhausted.  I must say this was one of the best and most
enjoyable vacations I have ever had.  The accomodations were very good to
excellent, everyone was very friendly, the food was marvelous - we even
got to swim in the Aegean from a boat to visit the hot springs in the old
volcano at Santorini.  The worst thing that happened was a 1 hour
plane delay in Athens on our way to Rhodes. Thank you again for setting up
a wonderful trip for us.

Our concensus opinion is that Sanorini was the most exciting place, with
Rhodes coming in second.  The rest on Paros at the Astir was magnificant -
it would be hard to imagine a better way to adjust to a new environment.

Sincerely yours,

Jon Orloff

Hi Kostas,
Yes, I got back two days ago, it is very difficult to return. I liked
Greece very much. I hope to get to stay there for an extended period of
time someday. I met my relatives in Sparta and in Athens and they were
wonderful. I hope to stay in touch with them. Also, I made some really good
friends in Sifnos, and I hope to return there too. I hope you enjoy the
c.d. Sorry we didn't make it out for a beer. I think I was ahead of
schedule with Matt by a day or two. I saw him and Andrea my last day in
Sifnos. He is a bad influence and they told me there was no reason to go
home, but my job here awaits my attention. Thank you for all you did to
help me and my family have such a nice stay in Greece. I hope you get a
chance to take some time for yourself this summer and take a break from all
your hard work.
Take care and stay in touch.
Best wishes, Melina

Uli,
Just a quick note of thanks for handling my travel arrangements for
honeymoon.  There were no problems with any part of the itinerary, which I
really appreciated.  After travelling 7000 miles, the last thing I wanted to
worry about was where I was going to stay if the reservations were not
correct.

It was nice to meet you and place a face to a name

Just wanted to let you know we had a fantastic time in Greece.  Your help with
reservations was terrific and we really enjoyed the hotels you found us as well
as those
we found ourselves in the latter part of our trip on Folegandros and Santorini.
In
particular I wanted you to know that the Mykonos Bay Hotel was fantastic and I
recommend it to anyone as it is quiet but a close walk to town.  We will contact
you for
our next trip to Greece which I hope will be soon.  Jeri  Janowsky

Dear Aliki and friends at Dolphin Hellas:

Thanks very much for your flawless arrangements for our recent trip, at the
Olympic Palace, ferry to Mytilini, and Grande Bretagne.  Everything was
excellent and the cabin on the Theophilos was an especially nice surprise.
Thanks also for the helpful package that you left with the vouchers at the
Olympic Palace.  We had a great time.

Kiki,

We just wanted to say thanks for helping us to have such a wonderful
vacation.  We really enjoyed meeting you and appreciated your personal tour
of Athens.  We have a picture of you and Donna and will mail it to you.

We really did have a good time in Greece.  You live in a beautiful country
and everyone we met was very gracious.  Of course the highlight was
Santorini.  We really loved the island and enjoyed each of the sunsets.  We
could have spent two weeks there.
...
We have showed everyone our pictures and they all want to go next year.  When
we tell them about you and your help in planning the trip, making the
arrangements, meeting us in Athens, following up with faxes they are truly
impressed.  We really did have "the worlds best travel agent".

We hope that you come to visit us in the United States soon.  We would love
to show you around New York.

Take care for now and again thank you for all of your travel help.  We look
forward to coming to Greece again.

PS.  The last night in Athens we ate at the $1.00 slavaki restaurant.  It was
delicious.

                                                        Sincerely,

Dear Good Friend,
Kiki, you are wonderful.  We so enjoyed getting to know you and now
consider you a good friend.  I don't know if you give such personalized
service to everyone (don't see how you could) but we sure enjoyed the
camaraderie and good times we had with you.
...
Everything went well getting home and the way we did it with a night
in Athens and then a night at the airport Sheraton in Frankfurt, made things
so easy that we have suffered no jet lag--which we usually do on our return
home.  When we went back to our hotel room the last night, we went out on the
balcony and were thrilled to find that we had a direct view of the
Parthenon--lit up and beautiful.  What a surprise treat that was for our last
night.  Kostas was there right on time and took good care of us at the
airport.  We really appreciated him.  We took his picture and I told him I
would send a copy to you to pass on to him.
        ...
We have been back two days now and I wish we were still there.  What
a glorious trip we had and you deserve the credit.  We have already sung your
praises on the travel board.
Let's keep in touch. Come to San Diego.  I will send pictures.  Say
hello to Matt.
Bye for Now,
Jane

Dear Kostas,

Phew!  We have been to paradise and back home again.  We had a most wonderful
time in your beautiful country.  And all arrangements were perfect.  Everything
went so smoothly.  The Elounda Mare was great - private pool - what luxury.  The car and
taxis were there waiting and hoteland ferry reservations were excellent.  Although,
driving in your country was a little scary (all the horn honking and passing) - but then I
just said to myself - fine you want to pass me - go ahead.  And I just ignored the honking.
I then learned to just swirve around mopeds and pedestrians - I was driving like a
local in just a few hours.

We also went to the Gershwin piano recital.  It was most wonderful to sit under
the stars in an ancient (okay Roman - we will let them have some credit) theatre and
listen to the music - unbelievable.  Thanks for the suggestion.  The Plaka was the
perfect place to be and the view from the roof of the Electra Palace was fantastic at
night while eating dinner.

The cruise was great and Turkey was okay (very pushy sales people), but I really
enjoyed Greece and her many islands.  You have a very beautiful country.  Thank
you so much for everything you did for us.  It made our trip worry free.  If you are
ever in the San Francisco Bay Area, please give us a call.

Fondly,

The Sadies

Hi Kostas,

Apologies for not replying till now.  The computer I use is the one in my
classroom at the school where I teach.  I'm starting to get ready for our
first day of school on August 31 & just reconnected my computer.

Greece was outstanding.  I took about 400 slides & bought about 100 others.
I spent several days this summer selecting, sorting, & arranging slides to
show to my 6th grade (12 year olds) World History class when we study
Ancient Greece.  Several adult organizations in the small town in which I
live usually ask me to make presentations to their groups also.

Bad impressions, very few.  The amount of litter & grafitti, at times, & some
subpar air conditioning.

Delphi, Mycenae, & Meteora were my favorite sites while on my 7 day mainland
tour with Cosmos.  The National Archaeological Museum in Athens was
outstanding.  The Acropolis & Plaka of Athens were wonderful.  The
overnight ferries to Patmos & Rhodes were interesting & went well. I slept
good both nights.  The flights to Crete, Santorini, & back to Athens went
well.  Finding my motels on the 4 islands was no problem.  Very much
enjoyed all 4 islands.  The monastery on Patmos, the old city of Rhodes,
Lindos, Knossos, & the Archaeological Museum in Heraklion were all
terrific.  Santorini was a wonderful way to end my stay in Greece.  The
cities of Fira & Oia, the caldera excursion, & the Minoan  ruins of
Akrotiri were great.  The Hotel Fira's location was spectacular.  I'm very
glad I spent a little more money for this hotel.

The outdoor restaurants I often ate at served very good food.  There were of
course some Greek foods that I tried & didn't particularly like.  The Greek
people were friendly & helpful.

In my overseas travel I have high expectations.  Greece did not disappoint.
Someday I would like to return & see some other sights I did not get to this
time.

dEAR Aliki,

Thank you very much. The services provided by Dolphin Hellas and you in
particular were thorough and professional. If you don'y know it we also
used your offices to book the day cruise to the Saronic gulf islands during
one of our days in Athens. We had asked if you were in the office-- too bad
we couldn't thank you in person.
Again-- MANY Thanks for a wonderful vacation.

Dear Catarina and Aliki,

Thank you so very much for all your hard work, time and effort you put into
making our trip a successful one.  Everything went smoothly.  We enjoyed it
all.  We especially loved the Greek food and people.  Everyone we met was
very friendly and helpful.

The Phillipos Hotel was excellent; we would definitely stay there again.
We liked its location, the staff were helpful, the rooms were clean and
comfortable, and the breakfast was tasty and filling.

The trip to Delphi was a highlight, especially for my husband.  He is an
English teacher here in the local high school where he has taught much
about ancient Greece.  To be able to finally see the places that he has
read and taught about was like a dream come true.  Thank you for helping
him have that experience.

Our flight to and from Crete on Air Greece was quite comfortable as well.
We had a bit of a wait on the return, but it wasn't too bad at all.  We
loved Crete and are definitely coming back.  You'll hear from us again.

Would you be interested in a picture of your happy travellers?  We'd be
happy to send one to you if you are.  Thank you again.

Sincerely,

Laurie Holdsworth

Thanks for everything.  We had a wonderful trip.

Beginning with your recommendation to have dinner the first night at Strofi and
being surprised at the wonderful view of the Parthenon, and ending with the beautiful
sights at Ia.  Our favorite was Nissaki Hotel on Naxos. Perfectly located on the beach but
only a 5 minute walk to the tavernas downtown.

Lastly, the transfer to Oia Mare was very important.  We could have found a taxi
for the first 15 km.  But how would we ever have found the donkey for the last 1/2
km without your help?

Thanks again

Dear Kostas,
We would like to extend our appreciation to you for making our
recent holiday in Greece such a pleasant experience.  The cruise was most
enjoyable, and as you had predicted, the scenery was magificent.   It gave
us a taste of what the other further islands must be like.  We would like
to return again during a warmer time of year, and travel to other parts of
the country.  Actually the weather here at home was very cold today, and we
would have welcomed the warmer temperatures of last week!  We plan to go to
our ski home in the mountains next weekend, where it is really cold right
now.  But we have our very warm memories of Greece to endear us...

In appreciation,

Dear Kostas,
We are now home after our trip to Greece. Thank you for your assitance
with our travel arrangements. The car rental was very convenient and the
Adrian Hotel was exceptionally pleasant. The notes and receipts you
provided were very thorough. We are sorry we did not have a chance to meet
you. We just got too busy in Athens.
Thanks again!

Hi Matt,

Just to let you know that we had a fantastic time in Athens, the weather was
the best they've had in March for 20 years (in the 70s), and thanks to you and
Dolphin Hellas we had the right information and accommodation to suit us.  We
did lots of walking around and managed to go on one of those one day cruises
to the islands (Aegina, Poros, Hydra).  Hydra was really pretty, however, we
didn't have long to look around.

Athens was pretty busy considering it was off season, and I don't think I
would have enjoyed it as much if there were any more people or if the weather
was any hotter (as the pollution would have been unbearable).  One thing I
noticed was the vast numbers of cats in Athens.  They're everywhere!  Once we
walked past a souvenir shop at night, and it must have had thirty cats roaming
around inside it.  Are these the true Athenians?

The only downer was that I was ill from food poisoning when I got back, I
think it was the melinzanosalata I had on our last night out.  It wasn't that
bad, but it lasted a week. Such is life.

Anyway keep up the good work on your web site!

all the best,

Rita

Aliki, we just wanted to thank you for the wonderful vacation you helped plan
for us in Greece. Finding you on the internet was the smartest thing we could have done.  We
talked to other tourists who had their trips planned in the states and they didn't get to stay
as close to the Plaka as we did (they had to ride a bus to come in and shop!) and no one told them
about the best restaurants like you did.  We took as much of your advice as we had time to and
had the best vacation we have ever had.  Someday when we can come back we will be sure to get
in contact with you again.  Thanks again,  Sally and Gary Hoffmaster

Dear Kostas<

My wife and I as well and Mr. and Mrs. Manupelli, want to thankyou
for making this the most memorable trip we heve ever had!  The service
you gave us was not only first class but outstanding.  The people we
have encounted along the way were wonderful. Starting with yourself to
the young man George Konstantopoulos who was our taxi driver on all the
transportation. I reccomend that you use him as often as you can, a wonderful
young
man...I know I keep using the word "wonderful" but that is the only word
that will justify the trip we have just had! I will recommend you and
your agency to any and all of my friends traveling to Greece...we plan
to come back again also...you have a beautiful country, great people,
and beautiful woman too! My only regret is that we did not have a chance
to meet due to the days we were in Athens..that gives me the excuse to
come back. Again thankyou for the memories...I will e-mail you from time
to time..I also understand from George that you play the sax...I play
the clarinet..you see we had someting in common along.

                                Talk to you soon

                                Regards Linda and Dominic

Uli -- thanks again for a great trip. Did you plan the weather too? It was perfect!

So was your choice of hotels and islands. It just kept getting better and better! Greek food is fantastic and the people are so friendly. Best vacation ever!

Thank you for answering all of my questions. The only question I forgot to ask was "how do you get from the boat to the hotel?". On Paros we walked the 800 meters (no problem). On Naxos we took a taxi to a travel office that manages the hotel, and on Santorini we found a bus that would take us up to the town. We didn't get lost!

Even our connecting flights went well. I got searched in security several times, but that was no problem either. The taxi company you use in Athens was first-rate. Very professional drivers.

I am going to tell everyone I know that they must visit Greece. And when they do, they must contact Dolphin-Hellas!

Dear Uli,

I just wanted to take this opportunity to say thank you for all the work you
did on our trip. It was amazing. In the end, we were happy that the cruise
was cancelled as the plans you made for us were much more relaxing. We
particularly loved the Anteliz in Santorini...it is one of the most
beautiful spots I have ever seen. Marianna the proprietor was wonderful.
Rhodes too was very enjoyable and the location of the Phillipos perfect. I
couldn't have asked for a better vacation. One very minor improvement (which
I realize would have been difficult in such short notice- but may be helpful
for future travelers) is to have transfers arranged from ferry to hotel in
Mykonos and Santorini as it is very difficult to find cabs there. Rhodes and
Athens were no problem.
I look forward to having you schedule my visits in the future and I will
recommend people I know to use your services.

Thanks again. All your hard work is much appreciated.
Sincerely,
Julie

Hi Matt:

In 3 weeks we (the 5 of us plus an assortment of friends) leave for Greece for our 4th year in a row. Needless to say we have fallen in love with this very special place, and the extremely valuable information that you make available on your web site has had a lot to do with this now established family tradition. I can't say Thank You enough!

Sarah on Sifnos has been a true gem adapting to our every changing schedule (#$@#&* ferry boat schedules) ;-) ;-)! As well as offering alternate suggestions.

Uli, at Dolphin Travel, has become a special person for us over the past 4 years. She handles all of our arrangements with efficiency and good humor. We can't say enough good things about her!

Question: I would like to drop off a small "token of our appreciation" for Uli this year and I have been racking my brain for an appropriate gift. But all that I can come up with is flowers. Do you know of a florist in the area of her office or the Attalos where we will be staying where we could get her something nice? In our wanderings thru the Plaka and surrounding area over the past 3 years I don't recall seeing a florist, just a small shop in Psiri that sold plastic flowers.

Any other suggestions would certainly be appreciated!

With genuine appreciation,

Drew Howard & Family

HI Matt

I would like to complement you on a great website. I used it extensivley to
do some research for our holiday to the Greek Isles. I found it extremely
informative and well put together. Your tips were also extremely useful. We
also used the Dolphin Hellas travel agency recommended by you and found them
to be very efficient and helpful.

As a result of this we had a fantastic 2 weeks - 4 days in Naxos, 1 week in
Crete (swapped timeshare) and 3 days in Santorini. Naxos was great because
of the lack of commercialism and once we were out of the main town and
visiting some of the remote beaches on our hired scooters, we found it
fantastic. Santorini was also worth the visit because of the setting - I
think I shot off a whole roll of coloured slides in about an hour.

Needless to say I will be returning for another visit. I have also passed on
your web address to a number of friends who intend visiting Greece.

Thanks and congratulations once again.

Dear Matt:

We just returned from a 3 week trip to Greece. The information on your
website was excellent. We followed your advise and utilized a Greek Travel
Agency (Dolphin-Hellas), who you recommended. Uli provided tons of
information and made all of our hotel and ferry reservations at a lower rate
than we could do ourselves on the internet or via fax. When we were not
happy with a hotel we chose, we called Uli in Athens and she immediately
switched us to a more suitable hotel. What a trip saver!

All of your website info was right on for Athens, the mainland, the Greek
Islands, and the hotels.

Thanks for making a good trip into a fantastic trip.

Sincerely,
John & Judy Stoll

Sophia -
THANKS so much !!!
We just returned home to New York State and had a great honeymoon in
Greece.
Your help with arrangements was super.
The overnight ferry to Corfu was a good idea - we arrived well rested
and ready to explore (altho Patra was a bit intimidating at night with
all the restless young boys ready to cause trouble!). The hotel in
Pelekos was very nice (keep in mind for the future that everything there
is in German - printed materials, tv, tourist info..) and we really
enjoyed the entire island... Paleokastrista seemed like the best place
to be on the island for folks interested in staying outside Corfu Town.
Santorini was as beautiful as everyone says ! The Cosmopolitan is
excellent (the best accomodations we had in all of Greece) and we fully
endorse it. Your recommendation was great and we'd tell everyone to
stay there. Thank you very much.

We weren't crazy about the Hotel Adrian once back in Athens but it was
okay. the location is convenient but I think they have bed bugs !

Again, we are very appreciative of all your help making our last minute
arrangements.
You were efficient, friendly and insightful. Thanks.
