Hi Matt,
My college-age son and I recently stayed for two nights at the Villa Mathios hotel in Akrotiri
on Santorini, and I would recommend it to anyone. We found the hotel on the Greektravel.com webpage, and
it was easy to make reservations through the webpage and to communicate with Costas, the hotel's owner, via e-mail.
Costas is a very hard-working, friendly person, and he gave us some good advice about getting to Santorini and
about what to do there. We really liked staying at the Villa Mathios for a number of reasons. For one
thing, Thira and Oia (the main towns on Santorini) have gotten very touristy
and noisy; while it's fun to visit these spectacular cliffside towns, it's nice to be able
to get away from them, too. Akrotiri, where the Villa Mathios is located, is a beautiful, quiet, and peaceful
village on the southern tip of the island. It is located in a perfect spot for spectacular views of the caldera
(the volcanic bay of Santorini); it has the feel of a village instead of a tourist town; and it is conveniently
located close to some beautiful beaches and also adjacent to the Akrotiri archaeological dig. This ongoing,
active archaeological site is really worth a visit, and I'm surprised it hasn't gotten more attention; it's a 4500
year-old city that seems to have been a very prosperous Minoan outpost prior to the explosion of Santorini's volcano
around 2500 BC. The archaeologists have excavated city streets, beautiful and distinctive pottery, and stunning
wall murals (many of which can be seen at the new museum in Thira town). This site was one of the high points
of our trip.
Villa Mathios itself is a clean and comfortable family-run hotel with lovely views, a swimming
pool, and a very good, relaxed taverna. Costas and his family are very welcoming, and Costas runs his own small
travel agency from his office in the hotel. This proved very helpful to us, in that Costas was able to arrange
a rental car for us as soon as we arrived at a very reasonable rate; this allowed us to see the whole island at
our own pace. He also looked into travel arrangements for us and booked us seats on an Olympic flight out
of Santorini when we were ready to leave. I should note that they picked us up at the airport and drove us
back for our departing flight.
All in all, Villa Mathios is a great place to stay--great location in a quite village, friendly
people, and lots of travel assistance. It
is also much less expensive than staying in Thira or Oia. Highly recommended!

Santorini Villa Just Like Home
At the end of six weeks traveling in the Balkans, Turkey and Greece this summer, I arrived at the restful Villa
Mathios on Santorini.
Santorini is a beautiful-but-stark island, and the Villa Mathios was an oasis. It is located in the old town of
Akrotiri near the caldera rim, away from the noise and bustle of Fira and close to Red Beach, the most beautiful
beach on Santorini. Lush gardens surround the rooms, and there is a lovely pool. Air-conditioned rooms and suites
rent from 16,000 to 29,000 drachmas (about $43.50 to $79) per night, including breakfast.
This modern establishment is family-run, and Mama's wonderful dinners start at about 3,000 drachmas ($8.50). Transportation
is available to and from the airport and the ferry, even at 1 a.m.
I also took advantage of the travel service (Akrotiri Travel Agency) operated by the hotel's manager, Kostas Papalexis.
He arranged hotels, rental cars, taxi service, flights and ferries in Athens, the Peloponnese peninsula, Rhodes,
Crete and Santorini. I made all my travel arrangements for Greece with Kostas over the Internet. This was no package
deal; he spent a lot of time arranging the specific trips I wanted to make and did not charge me a service fee
because I agreed to pay for two-thirds of the accommodations in advance.
Every hotel, rental car, ferry, flight and driver was ready on time, and the perfect arrangements took all the
stress out of my frequent moves around Greece. It was lovely to finally meet Kostas at the end of my trip and to
stay in his family's beautiful establishment.
Matt,
Thank you so much for your recommendation to stay at the Mathios Hotel in
Santorini. I have just returned from an unbelievable vacation. Kostas and
his family were absolutely wonderful, I wish I could find such hospitality
in the States. Kostas was amazing himself. After you recommended his
hotel, he asked where else we were looking to travel while we were in
Greece. He made all of the arrangements for me; hotels, airplane tickets to
and from the islands, ground transportation - everything was flawless. The
hotels he recommended in Athens and Mykonos that were perfect for my Son and
I. When our flight arrived late into Santorini, his brother George waiting
for us. It was almost midnight when we arrived at the hotel, Kostas opened
the kitchen and sent up plate of fabulous food for us. My favorite part of
the trip was Santorini. Not only because was it the most beautiful place on
earth but Kostas, his wife, George & Alexandria treated us more like
family & friends then guests at their hotel.
Your website is wonderful! I spent many many hours reading through it before
my trip to Greece, it was very helpful and very accurate. Thank you for all
of your tips about Greece! I am recommending it to all of my friends.
Thank you again & best wishes,
Nancy Taylor
Hi Kostas and Family, just a quick note to let you know that we are home now
safe and sound! The desk clerk at The Horizon Beach Hotel told us how you
called to make sure that we were doing fine. That was very kind of you. I
must say that no where did we get service like we got from you and your
family Kostas!!! I would suggest to anyone going to Greece to stay at your
place first as you give them a warm and cosy feeling! Your mother's food is
THE BEST in all of Greece. Your father's wine, your brother's musical
talents and your wife's hospitality and always pleasant smile(so calm).
Everything you did for us was fabulous and I have already highly recommended
you as a person's first stop in Greece!!!! I must go now but I will write
again soon as I have some funny things to tell you. Also I will email some
of the pictures from Greek Night. Please say hello to everyone . We miss you
all. Take Care, your friends Susan and Mario.
Dear Sir,
May I tell you about the most wonderful family hotel on earth? Hotel Mathios, is the
most wonderful place we've stayed at in many many years.
My Husband and I love the water and the beach and for the first time, stayed outside the
US boundaries for our vacation. We normally go to the Caribbean but decided we'd go to the Mediterranean
this time. We surfed the internet for hotels all around the Greek islands and decided on a place called Hotel
Mathios on Santorini Island. Not too big and not too small, it turned out to be perfect.
Upon arriving, we were met by Mama. She was so friendly and warm. She immediately
welcomed us and ushered us into their family type hotel. We later met the one of the sons, Kostas, who is
the manager, and the rest of the family were introduced to us shortly thereafter. Kristy, Kostas wife, Giorgos
the other brother, and Papa who is such a workaholic. Paps is now supervising the building of the new addition
to the hotel. From the first moment we felt the warmth of their hotel which also serves as their home during
the vacation season.
At our first meal, Mama suggested we try some of her crepes which were on the menu.
Upon tasting the scrumptous meal, we were hooked on Mama's cooking. She uses only the freshest ingredients
and told us that all the products come from the island. The wine, the vegetables, and the fruits were all
splendidly prepared and the memories of her cooking still make my mouth water.
Since we had friends getting married at the other end of the island, we brought fancy clothes,
however, a couple of hours before the wedding, we realized that our clothes were much too wrinkled to wear.
Fortunately, in a family type hotel as the Mathios run, we were graciously accomodated by Mama, as she offered
to have our clothes ironed and ready to go in time. This was just one of the wonderful favors they did for
us. We also had to go to town on our last day, and Giorgos was right there, allowing us to ride with him
as he was going into town to run some errands. At another time, I needed assistance (a woman always leaves
something behind), when I realized I did, Kristy was right there graciously loaning some of her own personal cosmetics
to me!
We ate at the hotel, we enjoyed after dinner drinks at the hotel and we rented a car there.
We bought and left postcards to be mailed by the family and were never without anything our hearts desired, because
the family was always there to make sure we enjoyed our stay!
Since our stay we have told countless numbers of people about the Hotel Mathios. We
are now planning a 2 week trip there in the early season next year. We can hardly wait to see the family
again, as we feel like they are so close to us. As a comparison, our friends who got married on the other
end of the island are planning a trip back in 5 years because they cannot afford to go to the same place again
for at least 5 years! However our hotel was so affordable, we'll be back before a year has passed!
If you wish, you can pass this email or our email address on to anyone who would want to
know more about the Hotel Mathios or the wonderful service the family can and will give their customers.
kindest regards,
Russell and Kathryn Perry

Hello Costas:
I have not had any ouzo since the last time I saw you. A year is too long. We are all
still enjoying all the wonderful memories of Greece and particularly of Santorini. Wish we were there now.
My sister, Roberta Harney is taking a Mediterranean cruise and will be in Athens & Santorini the second week
of September. I told her to contact you if there was anything she needed, that you were the best!
Hope all is well with you and your family. We are all fine.

Hello Costas,
Well, we arrived back in Canada safely. We had a wonderful time in Greece. The package you put together for
us was great. The hotels were really nice, the Islands were wonderful. It was nice to have someone
arrange all that for us. The Greek night in Athens was fun. What a beautiful roof top restaurant. We
saw some of the Acropolis light show. The best food I had in Greece was at Villa Mathios. Mama is a
wonderful cook. It's back to work & the usual routine. It was nice to meet you. Thanks for making
our trip a great experience.
Take care.

Earlier this summer I spent six weeks traveling in the Balkans, Turkey

unpacking and of driving rental cars I arrived at the restful Villa

Dear Costas,
I received your CD and cook book. Thank you very much. I and my daughter are listening to it even as I write
this letter. I miss you and the family and hope all is well with you. You must promise not to work yourself to
death. After all, it will do me no good to come to visit you in Greece if you have a stroke and can't spend any
time with me (laughing). Please give Chrissa and
mama a kiss for me and remember I am thinking of you.
Love,
Chris
Greetings from lovely Lesvos!
It is greener & cooler here, but also windier & cloudier. There's no Akrotiri and no volcano, and
worst of all---NO Villas Mathios!!!!!!!! I think you should have a hotel everywhere I want to go in Greece, so
I don't have to be without you. (Damn selfish Americans...) Just a quick one to let you know that I
haven't forgotten you--it would be impossible. Give my love to your family, and especially to the beautiful
and gracious Chrissa.
Love, Carla
P.S. I'll write at more length when I have more time.

Dear Costas, What a marvelous time we had in Greece. Thank you for all your help and the wonderful
reservations you made for us. We have already heard from Ginny and Julie Ann. What fun we had meeting
your whole family. Mamas cooking was everything you said it would be - delicious. We will pass you
name on to our friends the Bengstons for their trip to Greece.
One thing though I must tell you. The last night in Athens at the Dinner and Music Show in the Plaka
- not good. The food was bad. The music was not good either. George was much much better.
We felt that it was a tourist trap. Thought you would like to know for future people. The best part
of the whole night was the wonderful little old man who picked us up at our
hotel and walked us through the Plaka, Anafiotika etc and explained it to us. He was marvelous.
God bless you. We plan to come back to Greece hopefully in two years.
Greetings to all your family and God bless your marriage to Christina - she is lovely.

Dear Konstantinos,
How are you? First and foremost, thank you so much for giving us such a wonderful time at your Hotel.
We were very peased indeed that we chose your hotel and are very grateful for the hospitality that you showed us.
You should be very proud of yourself and your amazing family.
Do let me know if there is anything as a doctor that I can do to help you or your family.
All best wishes,
Dr. Mark Poznansky
Hi Costas
Thanks for your hospitality over the past two weeks - we had a great time. I was thinking about your expansion
plans - If I was you, I personally would go more upmarket, more like a health spa - these are becoming very popular.
I have had a quick chat with my technical director about your CD-Rom, he will come back to me soon.
Take care Costas

Hello Costas!
It's a very beautiful day here in San Francisco but all of us girls are wishing that we were back on Santorini!
As promised, here is a couple of pictures that I scanned of you and your fiancee and a picture of your mother cooking
in her kitchen. Let me know if they turned out ok. Have a very nice day and say hello to your fiancee and your
family. They treated us very well!

Hello to the family Papalexis ,
Thankyou all for everything that each one of you did for Harold and myself to make our stay with you so very memorable. We
enjoyed every minute of our stay on the island. Kindest regards to each of you a big hug to your lovely little
dog.
Harold and Di Walker.
dear costas
It has been a year today when my sister, Judi and arrived at your hotel and we certinly wish we were back
there today.. First i am sorry we did not write to you earlier, as each of us thought the other had, and
talking about it yesterday, we realized that neither of us had. However we both often think of you and your
family and how much we enjoyed the islands. The trip you planned out for us after we left you worked out very well.
Michel and Evina picked us up in Paros and we very much enjoyed our stay. The car arrived right on schedule
and we toured the island. A funny story when we followed another car in to Leftkes -a mistake -and backing
up with a standard car (first time in 30 years i had driven one) up those winding streets was an experience.
And then when we left there, we were on teh green Aparitos boat and not the blue one. However it ws too late
for them to kick us off and we just waited for the blue one to arrive in Naxos and Sabos was there to pick us up.
again the car was ri ght on schedule and we travelled every road we could find, even up to Appolanus andKoronida,
etc and then down to Apiranthos. We also enjoyed the location of the accmodation and walked a lot.
I am sure we hit all the side walk cafes and restaurants on both islands. In Kilonas agan we were met at
the ferry by Cristos from the Windmills Tavel and very much liked the bungalow. We even had the use of the
pool next door. Again we walked miles, and this time took the buses around. Unfortuntately the guards on
Delos were on strike so couldnt get there which was disappointing (another excuse to come back). So we took the
catarmaran to Tinos for a day. Cr istos picked us up and had us to the ferry on time and we were off to Athens.
Your time limits (considering the time we had) were all excellent, we met very nice people and enjoyed very mintue
(other than backing out of Leftkes) Athens hasnt changed much since my last trip 30 yaers ago and we climbed
up to the Acropolis, and we climbed Leviticus, walked through the Plaka (several times), bought jewellery
from your friends and generally enjoyed ourselves. You are right though, 4 days is long enough to spend in
Athens but they were busy days. I changed computers when i returend and lost your email address so
thank you for the Christmas card and new cards. In fact i recently faxed one over to my sister as some of
her employees were coming to Greece. We both will certainly recommend you to anyone coming your way as we
appreciate very much the arrangements you made.
Thank you again and we hope to see you in the future. yours arlene -and judi
Dear Costas,
Thank you very much for your hospitality and for making us so comfortable at Villa Mathios recently. My family
and I enjoyed
Santorini very much and we will be back soon to partake of your hospitality again.
Regards to your parents, brother and fiancee.
Best.....

Dear Konstantinos,
I am writing on behalf of myself, wife and daughters to thank you for
looking after us so well when we had the pleasure of staying in your
hotel during our recent holidays in Greece.
We particularly appreciated your help during the terrible and unexpected
storms which interrupted all transport services serving the Greek
Islands necessitating our staying an extra two nights unexpectedly due
to the dangerous weather conditions. Your help in making this possible
even though it was during the very busy Pentecost long weekend meant
that we did not have to camp at the ferry wharf like so many others did
during the frightening storms.
We also need to thank you for your help with our on-going travel
arrangements and accommodation in Crete. The Marilena Hotel where you
booked us was so good that we extended our stay through the agent which
you appointed to act on our behalf. The bottle of wine you arranged for
us to be given in our hotel room was greatly and enjoyed with thoughts
of you in mind.
Thanks again for every thing!

Costas and family,
I am having a great time. After I finished being rude about the Hotel Santa Marina I had a lovely stay.
The beach is wonderful and I found myself driving in and out of Chania quite easily. I am in Athens now.
I have found lots of things to buy, shoes, t-shirts for my nephews, and one or two other items. I am off
to Delphi in the morning.
Thanks for all your help. I shall write to Matt Barrett and let him know how wonderful you are.
Be sure to come and visit us in Thailand!!!
Gwen Martin ;)
Hello Kostas!
Just a note to thank you very much for your helpful hints in visiting the Greece'Islands in June.Your itinerary
was very much appreciated. We appreciated all the help you have given us even with the boat time delay in Myconos.
You have made the right connection for the late arrival in Athens & hotel change, as well as the car &
others hotels reservation.
Again thank you very much for your time & effort. We will NOT hesitate to recommend you to ALL our friends
for your expert service in visiting your country. Say goodbye to your ''Fiancée'' & All the family for
your courteous welcome.

Costas, As promised, I am transmitting this email. 'Hope it makes it to Santorini! My trip to Crete went
well. Thanks for your help. 'Had an enjoyable stay at your hotel. How was the barbeque? Have a nice vacation, and
stay in touch.
Cheers! - Mark Stephens
Hi Costas and family,
I'm just now at an e-mail connection to thank you for a wonderful vacation at your place and for helping
out my friend Gwen on her travels. I arrived late in Athens but still got up early so I could spend some time at
the Acropolis. I had to cry there because it was so beautiful and historic. I have been teaching kids about Socrates
and ancient Greek culture for years, and now I finally got to see the real thing. A big thrill for me. I happy
to be home with my family and happy to have such caring memories of
a small part of Greece.
Thanks for everthing. I hope you got your monitor and van fixed. I hope the angry people are all gone
and you only have happy flexible people now.
Take care

Kalispera !
Nous sommes arrivés; I thought we were going to be spending more time on Santorini than planned.
I just kept yelling and told them they weren't going to give out another ticket all night ! Overbooking happens
sometimes, but what was incorrect was they gave out 3 seats to people who arrived 10 and 15 minutes after us; Greek
people of course; that's why I called you, I needed a real Greek to put in a word for us.
Thanks for your help and thanks for a great stay. Now I could really use a margerita from Gourgos.
HELLO COSTANTINOS,
HOW ARE YOU. I HOPE YOU HAVE A VERY GOOD SEASON AND THAT ALL YOUR FAMILY IS WELL. TWO WEEKS AGO, TRAVELLING
TO FRANCE, WE MET A WOMAN WHO WANTED TO TRAVEL TO SANTORINI, SO WE GAVE HER YOUR ADRESS, BECAUSE VILLA MATHIOS
IS A VERY NICE PLACE, OF COURSE. WE WISH YOU ALL THE BEST AND WE HOPE THAT ONE DAY WE CAN COME BACK AGAIN.
GIVE OUR REGARDS TO ALL YOUR FAMILY.

Thank you for the wonderful week we had in Villa Mathios and Santorini.
Please, give our best regards also to Mama, Papa, your fiancee, Giorgios and all the others who took so good
care of us.

Hello Kosta!
Artur and I had a great time in Greece. Thank you for your help.Paros is a lovely place. Everything was fine.We
loved our
"Greek Dinner" in Athenas. The night was wonderful, hot, many stars, it was really great to see
the Acropole and all around by night. We just had an adventure in our last moments in Athenas. We got the transfer
to the airport at the right time, but when we arrived at the airport we realized that it wasn't the same airport
that we arrived and we left some luggage there. Well, well, we runned a lot... We went by taxi to the other airport
and then we came back again to take the flight. It was funny. But at the end everything was OK. Maybe we visit you
some day again...Untill there we wish you continue to manage your place and your mamma continue to cook that wonderful
meal.
Best regards,Anadelli & Artur
Costas,
We just got back from Europe and that is why we have not written yet. I hope you are doing fine in the beautiful
VILLA MATHIOS. We would like to thank you very much for the excellent job you did in arranging our vacation. I
know it must have been very difficult to arrange so many aspects of our vacation such as: Hotel, cars, flights,
Classical tour, ferryboat, transfers, etc.. but everything was very well organized and we appreciated your recommendations.
The kids really enjoyed Greece and we would be very happy if you would help us out again in the future. I would
surely recommend your services to those who wish to go to Greece and would like someone to custom organize their
entire vacation at very reasonable prices.
Thanks again, and hope we can see each other soon in the future,
Manolis

Hello to Papalexis Family,

recommendations to friends and family of your beautiful villa and the great service and attention we received.
Someday I hope to come back.

Dear Costas,
I'm sorry that I haven't written sooner to thank you once again for a wonderful stay at Villa Mathios last
month. The highlight of our entire holiday was our time on Santorini and we look forward to having the opportunity
to come back for an even longer visit. Young Adam still talks of his "family" in Greece and indeed
you made us feel that way.
Also, I must tell you that the arrangements you made for us in Athens were nearly perfect. With only a
couple of days to spend there we felt like you placed us right where we needed to be to get the most of our short
stay. The tour arrangments were brilliant as well and proved to be another highlight for the entire family.
Please give our best to the entire Villa Mathios family and we look forward to being able to stay with you again.
Sincerely,
Jim Black
We are home again having had a really good time in Greece. We especially remember our happy stay at the Villa
Mathios and want to thank you and your family for making us so welcome. Particularly we want to thank "Mama"
for some of the nicest food we have ever eaten on our visits to Greece. Hope you have a good and busy summer
season.
Regards - Brian and Shelagh Tutchener.
Hi Costas,
We really enjoyed our trip to Turkey, thanks to you. Your friend in Athens was very helpful, and when we
arrived in Turkey we were greeted and later transported to the airport. We had a great time with the guide
in Instanbul. I would certainly recommend him - M. Akif Usanir. A former school teacher that has decided
he would rather teach tourists.
Thanks again, would love to return to beautiful Santorini
Sincerely

Konstantinos, Yorgos, and Family,
A Very Happy and Joyous Holiday season and Y2K to all of you. Thank you for the kind card and package and
thank you so much for the fantastic stay at Villa Mathios. We hope business is well and God's love is keeping

to the enchanting island of Santorini (Thira).

Hello there!
We had such a wonderful time, thank you so much for looking after us so well. Unfortunately we were both
so tired that we didn't really have time to sit and get to know you better - next time. Being back in London, back
at work is horrible but life must go on. Please send me the name ( spelling ) of your fiance so that I can write
to her and send her some beauty products.
For now I say good buy and thank you all so much for your hospitality.
I look forward to hearing from you
Best wishes

Dear Kostas,
We have a great trip in Greece. Greece is a very beautiful country to visit and to enjoy. We
hope to go back some time in the future. In Mykonos, the arrangements were great. The Hotel was super.
The view was absolutely breathtaking. The breakfast was great. Also a very beautiful swimming pool.
In Paros, we did not get a car with a sunroof. The hotel room it was ok . . The hotel was not
best like yours. But the beach was superbly beautiful. We had a nice trip back home. It's always
nice to come back home. Thank you for your hospitality and for all the arrangements you have done for us.
Please try to enjoy a little bit more life and work a little bit less...
Thanks again! If you come to Canada, let us know.
Johanne
We arrived home safely earlier today! Thank you once again for a magical vacation and all the hospitality
we ever dreamed
of. Many kisses and many many thanks!

Hi Costa
We and the Browns stayed with you May 28 and 29, then went up to The Phenix
in Imeroviglia. You asked us to e-mail you and let you know which we liked
best. It was fun to stay right on the rim of the volcano at The Phenix, and
the view was beautiful, but our stay at your place was more memorable. We
liked getting away from the crowds, being close to beaches, the friendliness
of you, your wife and the staff, and mama's cooking! Also your prices - your
rooms were more reasonable and very spacious. Thank you for our very
enjoyable stay.

HOw have you been?
I don't think you remember me but I stayed at your villa in may 1999.
I set up a page for you on the internet a few weeks after I returned home.
Reason I'm writing is to find out if any of the info I have posted on the
page has changed?
I noticed that the pages for the villa and the travel agency have been
looked at pretty much every day the past few months and I want to make sure
people can contact you using the info currently on the pages.
Let me know if anything has changed so I can update your pages.
Just as an fyi I added your link on another web site I maintain.
the site address is: http://www.dogaru.com/greece/mathios/
and : http://www.dogaru.com/greece/mathios/acrotiri.htm for the travel
agency.
I hope you got some business out of all the people that have looked at the
villa.
Well let me know if there's any changes to be made.
Take care and I wish you a busy summer.

Hi Kostas ...
Beth and I made it home to Leeds, Massachusetts just fine on the 11th of May.
We had such a wonderful time on Santorini, thanks to you. Villa Mathios was
such a fantastic place to be. Our room was just perfect! We loved the tile
floors, the balcony with the beautiful flowers growing there, the
unbelievable view of the sea, and the pool area and gardens which are so
pretty. We loved Mama's cooking and the ambience of the dining room. Your
homemade wine was excellent. Georgos' music was of the highest caliber
(which was a most unexpected surprise and a real bonus). It was so cool that
he and your father sang together ... that was great! And we loved it the
night that you danced and we all had ouzo together. You and your family
created such a warm atmosphere that it invited other guests to be warm and
friendly to one another at mealtime, which also added to everyone's
enjoyment. And you made the rest of our trip so effortless on our part by
your expert arrangements ... our car rental, ferry tickets, hotel
reservations in Athens, etc. Even down to the recommendation that we go to
your favorite winery, which we loved. We bought a couple of bottles of the
Vinsanto which we will treasure for years to come on special occasions. We
love Georgos' CD which reminds us of the wonderful 5 nights we had at Villa
Mathios. We do not know a lot of people who are world travelers, but when
someone we know thinks about traveling to Greece, we will absolutely
recommend you as a travel agent and Villa Mathios as the best place in Greece
to stay. Thanks again for a most wonderful and memorable vacation, Kostas,
and as we say in America, "don't forget to take time to smell the roses."
You work too hard. Don't forget to breathe. You are a sweetheart.
Efkharisto. Ia sou.
Your American friends,
Kathy Anderson and Beth Kilduff.
P.S. If you ever want to come to Massachusetts, you could stay at our house
and we would show you around and make a very pleasant stay for you and your
wife.

Hello Kostas,
It has taken me awhile to locate the travel recommendation service that
you mentioned to me. The SF Examiner newspaper no longer exists but the
SF Chronicle has continued to feature the Follow the Reader column in
one of its weekend editions. I had to ask a number of friends before I
found someone who knew of it since I don't get the SF newspapers where I
live.
Anyway, I can send a write-up to the newspaper by email but I need to
get some more information from you first. Please tell me the room rates
for the Villa Mathios as I only know what I paid. What is the range of
prices for dinners? Also, is there an internet site for both the travel
agency and the Villa Mathios?
Would you like me to highlight Akrotiri Travel and write about the
travel arrangements that you made for me or do you want me to write more
about the Villa Mathios? Personally, the perfect arrangements you made
for me all over Greece took away a lot of the stress of traveling in a
country where you can't speak the language and only remember the
alphabet from university math and physics courses! Also, the newspaper
states that if they have already printed an article about a place within
the last two years, they will not print another letter within two
years. So if Villa Mathios was written about within two years, I should
just write about the travel agency.
I had a small adventure after I left the Villa Mathios. Apparently I
was supposed to have reconfirmed my passage on the ferry from Rhodes to
Turkey the day before my ferry departure. I didn't know know about the
reconfirmation and since there was no one at the ferry office when we
arrived in Rhodes in the morning, we just showed up for the ferry an
hour or so before departure. I had made a reservation with my departure
date when I booked the reservation but there didn't seem to be a record
of that. Well, no boarding passes had been issued and more importantly,
we weren't on the manifest list of the ferry company. And the ferry
agent wasn't going to let us on that ferry. Since we were leaving
Marmaris, Turkey the next morning at 3am to catch our first plane we had
to be on this ferry. I kept following the ferry agent and every time he
turned around I asked if there wasn't someone we could call or see or
even pay to let us on the ferry. It was pretty tense for about an hour
because the ferry agent didn't seem interested in helping us. Finally,
he took off on his scooter with no explanation and when he returned he
demanded our passports. Everyone else was already on the ferry and I
thought the ferry was about to leave but he finally added us to the
manifest and gave us boarding passes with the instruction that we were
to give the boarding cards, the passports and some 'extra money' to the
captain. We were told to get on the ferry through an unauthorized gate
so we didn't go through passport control. We finally got on the ferry
and then paid a little more 'extra money' to get our passports back.
But at least we were headed back to Turkey where our friends were
waiting to pick us up.
The next day in the Istanbul airport I almost didn't get out of Turkey
when the passport control agent noticed that I was missing an entry
stamp to get back into Turkey (a small oversight that we made upon
getting off the ferry in Turkey) AND I was missing the Greek exit stamp
because since we had bribed the captain and weren't on the international
ferry manifest list, we hadn't been allowed to go through customs in
Greece when we left. I ultimately had 5 yelling Turks asking me on how
I had left Greece and how and when I had entered Turkey. Finally I
guess they decided that I didn't look like a terrorist and they let me
go.
34 hours after leaving Marmaris I was finally home in San Jose.
Once again, thanks for all your help with my travel arrangements in
Greece this summer,
Beth Gardner
Hi, Kostas! We are home in New Jersey. We had a great time at your
place and thank you for sending us to Maria's place in Paros. We had a
wonderful time there, as well. We had no problems with our ferries,
etc., and appreciate all your work on our behalf. Hi to you family!
Thanks again! Judy, Bruce, Liz and Cynthia
Greetings to the brothers Papalexis!
We enjoyed our visit, dinner and the music and dancing especially!
Our best regards to you, your lovely wife, Mama and Mathios, and thank you
again for a lovely evening.
We shall meet again.

Kostas, Papa, Mama, George and Theresa,
Do you remember us? We remember a lovely Greek Family in Akrotiri, warm
days with wind and sunshine, excellent food and Atlantis wine, and our stay
at the Villa Mathios. How are you? Is your project going well? Summer's
busy season has probably started for you by now. We came home to chaos and
trouble, but it is being straightened out now. Already we have talked to
our children about going to Greece in a year and staying with you. We
didn't want to come back. And if we didn't have to make money and could
live like we did without it, we would have stayed. You have a beautiful
island.
Thank you so much for your hospitality, concern and friendship. We look
forward to coming back. I have just begun to edit my tapes and will send
you something as soon as I can.
Thank you Kostas. My kids loved the worry beads. They knew what to do with
them- developed their own style of working with them. We think of you so
often...
Warm thoughts and best wishes for your profitable and productive summer,
Gary and Karen
Costas,
I just wanted to email and let you know that Lindsey and I had a great time with the rest of our journey in
Greece. Your recommendations were great. We especially loved the place in Naossa. We were a bit
disappointed with Tolo. It was much more touristy than we expected and the Belos Studios were nowhere near
as nice as Stefanos apartments. All in all though, it was a great trip. I just wish that we had
more time to spend on Santorini and Paros. Those were definitely the highlights of our time in Greece.
I am really glad that we found Villa Mathios and that you convinced us to take your advice for the rest of our
trip. It was the first time I have had a vacation where I did not have to be constantly thinking of where
to go next and how to find a place to stay. I really appreciate all of your hard work. We are in Italy
now, but wishing we could be back in Greece. We both miss meals from Mama and sitting out by the pool.
I hope that all is well for you and your family at Villa Mathios and look forward to visiting again someday, hopefully
soon.
Geoff and Lindsey
hi kostas
it is Angela grimm I?m sorry about the hotel stuff and calling you
complaining. But now everything is fine. They switched me to a more modern
room and everything was fine and i stayed there and will be staying there so
don?t worry about anything you can keep the money. I hope you are not mad at
me either. I really liked staying at your place and liked Santorini a lot
and want to come back. I didn?t like Athens cause it was too crowded and
polluted and stressful. But everything is great now and i?m just writing to
apologize. I?m very sorry, i know you work really hard and didn?t mean to
cause you trouble or make you upset. I also want to say thank you very
much!!!! for all your help!!!!
Take care
and tell everyone hi for me
Angela
Dear Kosta,
We got back to the U.S. a week ago and we are now looking at the pictures,

Thank you very much for your wonderful hospitality. Our family had a great
time staying at your hotel in June. My cousins Penelope, and Pat send
greetings. Again, thank you.

Costos,
Thankyou for providing Danielle and I with a memorable stay on Santorini. We thoroughly enjoyed the hospitality
of you and all your family and were sad to have to leave. I will recommend Villa Mathios to anyone I know who plans
a holiday to Santorini!!

Costas, Georgos, Mamma, Pappa and Chrissa --
Thank you SO MUCH for showing us such a wonderful time in Santorini -- your kind hospitality made our trip so
memorable. Please don't forget us when you have have you grand opening of the new hotel next door... Duncan
is insisting we return, especially for the room with the jacuzzi in it!
Anyway, know that we send you all lots of love from London. (You have no idea how difficult it is for
me to be here at work today ... )...
All the best ... and hopefully, we'll see you next year! (Georgos, don't forget to stock up on Bailey's,
margarita mix, and gin and tonics in preparation for our return ... )
Much love,
Karen & Dunc
Dear Mathios Village Family,
Our friends you have made such good memories for us our hearts feel like they are still with you on your beautiful
island. Unfortunately we discovered we had your hotel room key when we went through security at the airport.
After speaking with a security guard, she suggested we leave it and they would call you. Hopefully you have
recovered it by now. Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience it caused.
We reached home about 5 pm on Thursday and while unpacking, we played the music Jorgas (spelling?) so kindly shared
with us. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts Jorgas, the music is a incredible reminder of the land and
the people.
There is so much to thank all of you for in making our stay with your family one of the most memorable times
of our lives. Momma, your cooking was scrumptous and we look forward to the next time you prepare those wonderful
crepes for us. You are beautiful, just like your garden. Kostas and Krissa (spelling?), you two make
a hormonious couple, thank you for making us feel so welcome. Hopefully we can all go out dancing together
towards the end of the year. Jorgas and Kostas, somehow you've made Russell your brother and he has made
each of you his. This in itself is the single most important event in recent years, I will remember.
Mathios, we didn't speak much, but your beautifull handiwork on the current hotel will surely continue with the
new addition. Keep the pressure on those guys next door, I think they are intimidated by you! To the grounds
and housekeeping staff, thank you for your fine work. The hotel was always so clean and smelled so fresh,
inside and out, it was a pleasure.
We miss you all and hope you will stay in touch with us frequently.
Kind regards,
Russell and Kathryn
Costas,
Hello, my friend. Yesterday was our 13th wedding anniversary. Russell was pleased by the gift of
'worry beads', which I had purchased from George. He is curious about the beads themselves and I suspect
he will be contacting George for more information on them. Does George have a separate email address?
Please pass my thanks to George for the wonderful opportunity to watch Russell play the beads. Would you
also tell Crissa I said 'hello'?
Your friend,
Kathryn Perry
Hello Costas,
We just want to let you know that everything went just fine for the rest of
our holiday EXCEPT driving in Athens. That was really wild! Getting across
Athens at 17:00 on Friday was stressful.
But our room in Tolo looked right over the water and a full moon was shining
on the water when we arrived...Beautiful. We walked on the beach one morning
and one day we went to the ancient city of Epidaurus. We were treated very
nicely at the Tolo Hotel by all of the staff there.
Crete was a surprise to us. The mountains (some with snow still on the
tops), the variety of plants, the people selling fresh oranges along the road
to Chania, the rugged sea coast, the waves crashing on the beach...it was all
very beautiful. On Saturday morning there was a street market just a few
blocks from our hotel so we walked through there admiring the wonderful
fruits and vegetables and other items. It was a popular market and was very
crowded, but fun. We enjoyed wandering around the old city and along the
waterfront too.
We had a very good holiday in Greece, so we want to thank you for making all
the arrangements for us. I think our favourite place was on Santorini
because of your family and because it was so restful.
Tom has given your name to several people at work who are thinking about a
holiday in Greece, so you might be hearing from them. We will continue to
tell friends about you and the good job you did.
Please greet your Papa and Mama for us. We have played our CD of Georgos'
music several times already. And give Theresa at special hug...she is a
treasure for you.
Thank you again.
Tom & Elaine Gillespie
Cheers!
I returned from my honeymoon in Greece this past
Sunday. About a month before going on the trip I came
upon your web site which was a great help. Because
some of the tri had already been planned we used it
for our time on Lesvos and Santorini. It was a great
help.
We stayed at The Sunrise Hotel in Lesvos. The hotel
and the town of Molyvos were by far the highlight of
our honeymoon. Lesvos was quiet and relaxing but the
city had a nice level of energy for the evenings. The
Sunrise Hotel had a beautiful accommodations and
friendly staff that truly made us feel at home. By
the way, they speak very highly of you as well. We
also made two trips to the hot springs with an
additional trip up to the restaurant near by on the
same beach. In the city we had some wonderful meals,
wondered around the streets and went to a play in the
castle.
We also used your guide for our stay in Santorini.
Thank you for that assistance, without it we would
have been disappointed with this part of the holiday.
We were looking for a calm and relaxing vacation. Our
travel agent did not see fit to put us up anywhere
besides Fira. As you know, Fira is far from calm and
relaxing. So, with the help of your guide we stayed
at Villa Mathios. Mamma's food was fantastic and she
is such a doll. Kostas was friendly and made us
laugh. We had a lovely time there. We were lucky
enough to be there for Greek Night where we were
entertained with music and food and dancing. This was
a fantastic evening that was one of the 2 highlights
of our trip to Santorini. The second highlight was
that my husband found a small trail leading off to
these hidden little beaches/coves near Akritorini.
The quiet and the blue waters were about as romantic
as one could ask for.
Besides that we went to Athens and Naxos and we made
day trips to Mykonos and Delos.
Thank you so much for you assistance. The information
on your web site made such a difference in our
honeymoon. I only wish I had found it sooner.
Take care & safe travels!
Stephanie
Dear Costas,
As promised, we are writing to you to thank you and your family for the wonderful Greek hospitality that you
extended to us last month, August 2001, during our visit to Santorini. We loved every minute of our time
on Santorini which I think we covered from top to bottom by bus and on foot! We may write a book and entitle it
"Walking Tours on Santorini." We clearly made the right decision by staying with you in your lovely,
peaceful location. With all the craziness that the world has experinced during this past month, we all need
to be able to retreat to wonderful places like Villa Mathios and Acrotiri to find peace and tranquility. Thank
you for everything my friend. Keep up your wonderful work in helping people to relax and to enjoy!
Cordially, Ed and Sheila Rogers, Wellesley, MA., USA

Dear Kostas and Family...thanks for your reply...it is so wonderful to be able to keep in touch with our new friends
at Villa Mathios. Derek and I have been going full speed since we have arrived home. Derek is so busy
with starting up his own business, and I have been so busy getting our lives back in order, it has just been crazy!
No stress though...we feel fully relaxed now from our holiday on Santorini, at Villa Mathios.
As you may or may not know, Derek and I did quite a bit of research on the internet before we decided on our
holiday in Greece. Choosing Greece as our country of choice to travel to was easy, as it has always been
and will always be our number one dream place. Choosing how to holiday in Greece was complex. Given
the options of island hopping and then what islands there are to visit, it was a difficult decision to make.
One of my best friends who has been to Greece five times told me, as I was describing my dilemna to her, to just
chose one island and stay on it for two weeks, so that we could actually experience the island. Then
she followed by asking me to describe what Derek and I wanted in our vacation...serenity, privacy and beach.
With that information, she said Santorini was our island. So far so good...now for the choosing of where
to stay on Santorini...Villa Mathios in Acrotiri was extremely inviting. Your web sites are extremely descriptive...it
describes Acrotiri and the service you deliver at Villa Mathios perfectly. The location of your Villa on
Santorini is out of this world...the beaches are indeed plentiful and deliver much tranquility. Anything
you want to do while on Santorini is close enough to do, yet the perfect distanace away from all of the hustle
and bustle of places like Oia and Fira. Acrotiri a is quiet, friendly place that has every convenience imaginable.
It was wonderful to be able to walk anywhere that we wanted to go and see within the direct vicinity. Our
experience living at Villa Mathios while staying in Acrotiri was the very best part of our trip. It was lovely
to experience the warmth of the Papalexis Family. The hospitality that we had was outstanding...anything
our hearts desired was met. From Kostas' excellent management, to Khirissa's lovely service in the restaurant,
to Mama's amazing Greek cooking, to George's discussions with us on Greek culture, to Papa's handsome smile every
morning, the experience at Villa Mathios was brilliant.
We thatnk you all for everything that you shared with us while we were there with you.
You are absolutely delightful to know.
We'll be in touch and definitely see you in the future.
Sincerely,
Norma Jean and Derek Rae
Yasso, Kostas!!
Sorry we took so long to e-mail! So much has happenned since our return! September 11th was, indeed, a very sad
day for Americans and all the people of the world who reach out to each other in brotherhood. It only makes us
more appreciative of the wonderful hospitality shown us on our Viaggio Magnifico last May! We tell all who have
doubts about their fellow man that good hearts are found in all countries in all walks of life, as we experienced
on our trip. After our shaky start in Crete, the rest of the trip in Greece went spectacularly well; our only wish
was that we had much more of it! Please accept our belated thanks for making our honeymoon in Greece so incredibley
special; you saved our honeymoon!!!
From when we arrived in Santorini, tired and discouraged, going on the fourth day without our lost luggage, we
could not have imagined that our luck was about to change; we met you! By the next morning, you had somehow gotten
our luggage delivered, arranged for a rent-a-car, and set up the rest of our itenerary for us, including dock to
hotel and back, transport on each island, for the rest of the trip. When we arrived at the Spiliotika Hotel on
the cliffs of Santorini later that day, we thought we had gone to Heaven! Truly the most spectacular setting we
had ever stayed in. But as spectacular as that and the rest of the trip was, what meant the most to us was how
you took care of us; your service. Wherever we went for the remainder of the trip, we had travel agent friends
of yours in each location to tell us about the best places to go, help us in case of trouble, and lastly and most
importantly, we knew that for any difficulty, you were only a phonecall away. We have never been so well cared
for on a trip! We only hope you will let us return the favor if you ever come to California.
We will be back, Kostas, but next time we will have you plan it for us from the start! To all my friends, and to
anyone else who is planning to take a trip to Greece or the Greek Isles, we say...
DON'T GO TO GREECE WITHOUT KOSTAS!!!
Afaristo Colli!!!!!
With Love and Gratitude,
John & Michelle Luster
Dear Matt,
My wife and I are planning our third trip to Greece to celebrate our
30th wedding anniversary, and I thought I'd send you a note telling you
how invaluable we found your web site to be. On our first trip five
years ago, we booked through a US agent connected with the church. All
went well, but as we began to do some research for our second trip last
year, we discovered (through your site) all of the options - and lower
prices that we missed. Thanks again for providing such a marvelous
service.
This brings me to another point. Based on our travel to Santorini five
years ago, and from links to Akrotiri Travel that your site provided, we
found our dear friend, Kostas Papalexis. Sometime after we got back,
and as we were thinking about the trip, I sent him the attached letter,
in which I tried to thank him for how well we were treated. As time is
getting closer to planning our next trip, I thought I'd revisit your
site - certainly to begin the excitement, but also to see what has
changed. I was surprised that Kostas and Akrotiri Travel were no longer
mentioned. This is a shame because Patti and I found an excellent
resource through your site, and based on the strength of our experience
(which you are more than welcome to share), I'd like to ask you to
reinstate the link.
Again, Matt, thanks for providing all the rich information that is on
your site, and if you would like to contact us, or use this in a
testimonial, please feel free to do so.
Sincerely,
John and Patti Nulton
Dear Kostas,
It's hard to believe that a half a year has passed. Over the weekend I
have been enlarging prints from our trip to Greece this summer, and it
reminded me how much we enjoyed it, and how thankful Patti and I are for
all the work you did making our travel plans. If you'd like to use the
following for a testimonial from us, please feel free to do so.
Although this was our second trip to Greece, it was the first time we
used a non-US travel agent for most of it. It was also our first time
to make significant use of the Internet. We started out using our US
agent to do the Chicago to Athens flights, and that was ok, but when we
began to plan the two weeks in the islands, the trouble started. It
seemed that they took a lot of time getting back to us, and when they
did, the itinerary they set up was very expensive. Well, we began
poking around on the Internet, found Matt Barry's site, and contacted
some of the Greek travel agents - including Akrotiri Travel.
What initially impressed both of us about you and Akrotiri Travel were
the immediate responses we would get to emails - and time was a factor.
The other thing that we found was that you had a very wide range of
alternatives for places to stay and lots of ideas about what to do and
see - all we had to do was provide a little guidance on where we wanted
to go and what our budget was.
As we began to work through the itinerary, all of the properties had
Internet sites so we could get an idea of where they were located and
what amenities they had. This made us feel very comfortable with the
planning, and when we did a little comparison with guidebooks, we came
away with the feeling that this was what we would have chosen had we
done the research. You did an excellent job matching our day to day
needs with the right properties. For example, when we came into
Iraklion, all we needed was a place to sleep and a good breakfast
because we were leaving in the morning, and the hotel you selected was
perfect. It was conveniently located in the city - near the rental car
location, and it was clean, comfortable, and had one of the best
breakfasts on the trip. What was nice was not having to spend money on
amenities we wouldn't use. We had similar experiences with the other
hotels in Crete and in Athens - everything worked well.
The other wonderful hotel experience was staying at the Villa Mathias in
Akrotiri. On our first trip to Greece, we spent two days on Santorini -
and knew we had to come back. The Villa Mathias is just a wonderful,
peaceful, relaxing part of the paradise that is Santorini, and we had a
great time there. During the week we spent on Crete, everything worked
so well, and it was just so obvious that we were in good hands, I said
that this felt like we had family watching out for us. This family
experience was just a constant - from the time we were picked up in the
middle of the night at the port by a group led by your brother, through
all the personal touches you provided during our stay - including
sharing a glass of your uncle's wine, to the great connections to the
airport.
The Villa Mathias and the other properties you selected for us were only
part of what made our vacation so wonderful. The other aspects of it
were how well the transfers worked, and how knowledgeable and helpful
everyone was. The car rental agent in Crete was just fantastic. She
was able to suggest places to see we didn't think of or know about. We
got excellent, detailed maps, we were able to change money, and even buy
ferry tickets. The taxi drivers you arranged for us in Athens were
great, too. They were on time, drove comfortable cars, and were
extremely friendly. They minimized the usual anxiety of travel to and
from airports.
Kostas, I could go on for quite some time, and I would be glad to talk
to anyone directly about our experiences in Greece and with you. We can
be contacted via email at: jnulton@concentric.net
In closing, this summer will be our thirtieth wedding anniversary, and
we are thinking about returning to Greece. Later this winter we will
get in touch with you and see what we can put together - hopefully your
new property will be ready.
John and Patti Nulton
P.S. Kostas, we would like to return to Greece this summer and possibly
include Rhodes in our itinerary (and, of course, return to Santorini)
but would like your opinion on whether you feel it would be safe at this
time to plan a trip to Europe. Please let us know what you think. We
value your opinion.
We hope you and your family have a very Merry Christmas and a very
Happy New Year!
Kostas,
I just wanted to thank you. My boyfriend (Theodor Nicolaides) and I were in Greece last September, we had traveled
to Mykonos, Naxos, Ios, and then Santorini, we stayed with you all at the new hotel right on the cliff. Our experience
with you all was nothing but the best, from the moment we walked through your doors, we felt like family. Our hotel
room was absolutely breath taking, as soon as we open the door from our room, we had the most spectacular view-even
now, when I talk about it, it send chills down my back. I show pictures to our family and friends, and no one can
believe it!
We also dinned at the restaurants and the food was spectacular, again we felt as though we were very special guests
in the presence of you and your family.
We are American's from Washington, DC, and we were staying in your hotel when the terrorist attacks happened in
NY and DC, you were so kind to us offering us your phone, and anything else that we might need, after it happened
we sat and talked with you and your father for quite a while in the Travel Agency office, which was invaluable
to our experience, and while I don't speak/understand Greek, I felt so lucky to see the interaction between my
boyfriend and you and your father. We ended up staying with you much longer than we had anticipated and that is
because you made us feel at home and welcomed us in.
Ted and I had planned on writing right when we got home, but unfortunately we didn't, and I just wanted to make
sure that I took that time to let you know how much we appreciated your hospitality and your beautiful hotel. Ted
and I are about to start planning our vacation for this year, and a return trip to Greece is high on our list of
options.
One of my very good family friends just graduated from college and her and some of her friends are going to be
traveling through Europe, and their last stop will be in Greece, I highly recommended Santorini and your hotel,
as I know she will have as good of an experience as Ted and I did.
Thank you again,

Hi Matt,
I have noticed that Mathios Villas isnt on your web page
anymore? When I originally started planning my holiday I found your
recommendation but have since not been able to located it apart from some
feedback provided by other travellers.
Well..... I have to tell you we
had the most fantastic holiday and what made it enjoyable was the stay at
Mathios with Kostas and his family.
It started even before we left New
Zealand....internet bookings still have an element of risk-so when I emailed
Kostas for more details his reply's were prompt and full of detail. This put me
at ease immediately, he was a "real person" instead of just a booking system as
I normally encounter. I had questions that ranged from ferry timetables (seeing
as the timetables were not published until a week before we were leaving) it was
lucky Kostas had local information to help us plan the trip for Pireas to
Santorini.
We stayed with Kostas for 10 nights. On our arrival we were
provided with a very detailed map and explanation of sights to fit into to our 2
week stay. Kostas was able to provide access to cars, mopeds, flight bookings,
ferry passes, basically whatever we asked for wasn't a problem. We were even
privileged to get to know Kostas extended family. 1. Mamas cooking is divine-
very fresh-well priced and even came with a compl desert. 2. George-I hope the
wedding goes well in Sept. Very talented with his Jewellery unfortunately we
never got to hear him playing the bouzouki, but the CD was good.
In terms of
the room as this always leaves an impression and people always ask about what
the rooms were like- all I can say was "Just Magic" The Traditional room was
perfect. Good size, clean, close to the bar!!, cool at night, and wonderful
views.
My thanks to George and family for making our holiday
fantastic.

Wanted to let you know that I loved your web site with articles and pictures --
it was a great help in planning our trip. The most important reason that I am
writing is to thank you for the information on Villa Mathios. We decided to
take a chance based on your article and book at this hotel. THANK YOU, THANK
YOU, THANK YOU! Everything you said was true -- nice rooms, good location,
great food, beautiful setting and most especially such friendly, helpful,
gracious staff. It was such a pleasure having people willing to talk and help
you with your arrangements -- nothing was too much trouble for them. You can
definitely tell that they take pride in their hotel -- everything was clean and
in excellent repair -- looks like a lot of thought was put into the planning and
layout design -- makes a wonderful impression. Just wanted to let you know that
people do follow up on your advice and to add my excellent recommendation for
Villa Mathios.

Dear Matt,
recently I visited Greece with several friends and one of the
places we stayed was the Villa Mathios - this was a wonderful place to stay -
rooms were spacious enough and clean, the food was excellent and the people who
owned this villa were so helpful and exceptionally nice - I would stay there
again if I go back to Greece. Your website has been very helpful - thanks
again
