Map of Greece

I have gotten so many e-mails from people looking for a decent map of Greece on the net that I decided rather then to keep apologizing because I did not know where to find one I would put one on my site. Finding a map simple enough yet with enough information to be helpful was tough but I finally found one. This map takes a few moments to load because it is pretty big and I did not want to reduce it and lose clarity on some of the text so most of you will have to scroll sideways to see it all but it is better then sitting around and waiting for a package from the Greek National Tourist Organization. The map comes from the very helpful Guidebook MAKE YOUR JOURNEY TO GREECE AN UNFORGETTABLE EXPERIENCE by Matina Psychogeos. Not found in most bookstores the book can be ordered from www.greeklanguagecourses.com/journey.html and like everything on my websites I highly recommend it. The island of Corfu in the upper left hand corner is slightly cut off so in case you are looking for it it is right under Albania. if you are looking for Lesvos it is listed as Mytilini and is next to Turkey between Chios and Lemnos. For the best selection of Guidebooks and maps go to Ekdoseis Infognomon at 14 Filellinon just three blocks up from Syntagma Square across the street from Fantasy Travel in Athens. They have maps of all the islands, Greece maps, Athens street maps, and all the popular Guidebooks as well as maps and Guides for other countries. Compendium Books, the English language book shop at the corner of Nikis and Nikodimou Streets in the Plaka also has a selction as does the large Eletherodakis on Panapistimiou Street and the smaller store on Nikis Street.

There is a map of Athens at www.athensguide.com/map/athens.htm

Fantasy Travel sent me some of the maps of Athens they give to their clients. They are free so I am not really selling them but it costs money to send them, buy envelopes and my friend Lee in North Carolina sends them so I let him keep the rest. They are not the greatest maps but good enough. If you need a serious roadmap of Greece wait til you get here. The free map you get when you rent a car is all you really need but people who love maps will want to get one by Road Editions, Fotismaps or one of the other serious map-making companies.
