Attention Matt Barrett

Hi,

When looking at your website about Naoussa, I was amazed by your questions about "so many octopus drying across the fronts of the restautants..."

For about 15 years, we are visiting Paros and specially Naoussa almost every year.

We had exactly the same question coming to us...

But we have THE answer:

Walking early in the morning on the port, we discovered a huge quantity of dead octopus attached together by a cord bathing close to the edge...

A young guy working for the fish cold store came later on and took with him the octopus.

The same day late in the evening, the same guy  took out from a big packaging where was written" frozen fish from china" a quantity of frozen octopus and put them in the same place in the water...

The next days , we could see the guy delivering octopus to restaurants...

We had the confirmation of this by inhabitants of Naoussa. The quantity of octopus fished there would from far not be enough during the crowdy months.

So, you too have the answer now.

Best regards,
 Tomas and Hina
